Staff Spotlight – Laura

This month we’re featuring a very special long-time co-worker of ours, Laura! Her story is a unique one that began in 1968 when she first came to Spain to study abroad. Over the past 55 years, she’s lived in the cities of Zamora, Toledo, and Madrid with her Spanish husband. At this point, she’s more Spanish than American! Her expertise and loving nature are unmatched, making her an indispensable part of the team.

In the past, Laura worked as an English teacher and then as a secretary at a bilingual university before finding Valesa, which turned out to be the perfect fit for her. Laura’s wealth of knowledge and experience allows her to create the best personalized itineraries for our most high-end clients.

Her favorite thing about working at Valesa are her co-workers, stating that we have a wonderful team and it’s a pleasure to work alongside them! Laura also loves that her job is interesting, where no two days are the same. There’s always something new to keep her on her toes! Some of the challenges of the job are finding new and unique experiences for clients and trying to keep up with the constant changes in technology and tourism.

Laura would like to tell any American interested in visiting Spain that it’s the best country in the world for food and fun. It’s a special place with a very social culture that you just can’t find anywhere else.
