This month, we’re happy to introduce our fabulous co-worker, Carmen! Born and raised in Madrid, she is multi-faceted, fun, hardworking, thoughtful and not to mention our resident wine expert!
Carmen is passionate about languages and literature, having studied English, Italian, German and even a bit of Gaelic! She obtained her degree in English language studies and never expected to end up in the world of tourism, but after getting a job at the Madrid airport she was hooked. She worked to expand airline routes and established direct connections between Spain and Ireland, transitioned to hotel sales, and eventually found us at Valesa.
For Carmen, the best thing about working in tourism is our role in making others happy. Every client is looking for the most memorable trip to enjoy with their loved ones. At the end of the day, we work to create lasting impressions, and it brings Carmen joy to be giving travelers amazing memories that they will cherish forever.
Outside of work, she is a world traveler and a true wine lover, putting her sommelier certification to good use by offering small, informative wine tasting sessions for her friends. And as she travels to places like Italy, Turkey, Poland, and Paris, she never misses the opportunity to partake in wine tourism activities at the most impressive vineyards.
